Game Day at Lied Place

Nov 16, 2020

Game Day in downtown Lincoln differs this year from its typical atmosphere. As the population of the world has adjusted their lives to this pandemic, the University of Nebraska has followed suit, asking the Husker faithful to watch from home and allowing only team and staff in the venue. But fewer fans in the stands and lowered capacities for downtown events will not impact the future prospects of Husker Game Day at Lied Place Residences.

Just three blocks from Memorial Stadium, our condominiums offer spectacular views of the filled-to-capacity stadium and its illuminated scoreboard. Because we are located across the street from the University, the excitement that electrifies campus on Game Day will be palpable. From your windows, you will be able to watch the crowds progress toward the stadium, the Cornhusker Marching Band playing “There Is No Place Like Nebraska” as fans laugh and walk. A short stroll from the Lied Place front door, downtown businesses will be hosting brimming watch parties, with patrons sharing platters and clinking their glasses. Popular Rail Yard events will evolve into celebratory after-parties, with live music and dancing. On bye-weeks, with Pinnacle Bank just five blocks from our building, you will be able to easily attend any performances or competitions of interest, as well as take advantage of the Haymarket nightlife.

Although Memorial Stadium is emptier this year than any Nebraskan ever expected, we are hopeful for the end of the pandemic and the return of Game Day normalcy to the downtown Lincoln landscape. Until that time, we will relish the sight of the scoreboard from the height of Lied Place Residences, anticipating the beautiful views of Memorial Stadium for years to come.
