December Construction Update

Dec 1, 2020

After breaking ground in September 2019, construction on the Lied Place Residences began in earnest in December 2019 with deep foundation work, sending pilings 80 to 100 feet in depth to anchor the building. Nearly one year later, approximately 4400 cubic yards of concrete have been poured and this complex, four-phase build is steadily moving forward.

Lied Place construction efforts are currently focused on maintaining this phase’s “critical path,” a planned sequence of tasks dependent upon the completion of those prior. The critical path creates the most efficient timeline possible, and at this current phase, this means a concentration on the cast-in-place structure; the window-wall system installation on the north elevation of the building; and the exterior framing on the east, west, and south elevations.

The Level 16 Deck was placed before the Thanksgiving holidays, with Level 17 scheduled to be completed in the middle of December. In regards to interior framing, Levels 8 and 9 are finished, and the corresponding mechanical, electrical, and plumbing are close behind. Interior metal stairs are installed up to Level 11, and window wall frames are positioned to Level 8. The glass through which tenants will glimpse their breathtaking views is placed on Levels 6, 7, and 8 of the north elevation.

With a blue crane jutting 305 feet into the Lincoln skyline, it is hard to miss the progress of Lied Place Residences, a building sure to revolutionize the downtown landscape.
